My big audacious goal was to pay my mortgage off early as I did not want to be working hard into my 70’s! But I didn’t have faith in myself to believe too much. Fast forward (only) 3 years… I’ve dropped my work hours, got better work life balance, my income has increased, I’m doing more coaching (which I love), and I pay my mortgage weekly instead of monthly. Whether you're working alone or just need that extra push, here's why getting an accountability buddy or doing a co-working session online can make all the difference. ✅ Sometimes, just getting started is the hardest part. Having someone else there, even virtually, can provide that extra boost of motivation to kick-start your momentum. Once you're in the groove, you'll be amazed at how much you can accomplish. ✅ How many times have you started a project only to let it linger unfinished? With an accountability buddy or during a co-working session, you have someone to hold you accountable and keep you focused until the task is done. It's like having your own personal cheerleader cheering you on to the finish line. ✅ Working with someone else opens up the opportunity for collaboration and brainstorming. It's amazing how much clearer I can think and how many breakthroughs I've had during these walks. 2️⃣ There's something about walking side by side that makes conversations flow more easily. I've found that walking meetings or catch-ups with clients and loved ones often lead to deeper, more meaningful discussions. It's like the physical activity takes the pressure off and allows us to connect on a different level. 3️⃣ As a busy business owner, I'm always looking for ways to stay productive and focused. Taking a break for a walk not only recharges my batteries but also gives me a much-needed energy boost. I come back feeling refreshed, invigorated, and ready to tackle whatever comes my way. The course of your life. Last night I went to my youngest’s year 11 information evening. Where we are located, you have 2 compulsory subjects, but you get to choose 4 subjects to suit whatever you are interested in. I generally hate these types of evenings, because I grew up in an era where you had to choose subjects that you ‘should do’ rather than what genuinely lit you up. It got me thinking… if family is one compulsory subject, and business is the other (for many of us)… then what would you choose your other 4 subjects to be for the rest of this year? What genuinely lights you up? What would you love to learn about and be a part of? Because the truth, as I see it, is there is no shoulds… we get to choose… and then choose again in the course of life. As I navigate my new journey with a Neurodivergent label, I've found myself tackling my to-do list in a whole new way. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions, from uncertainty to acceptance, but I'm learning to embrace this part of myself. One thing I've discovered is the power of approaching tasks differently.
